Yeah, I know, it's been a while. But I've been really, really busy. New episodes of Breaking Bad are airing!
This was a half-baked idea I had bouncing around in my head for a long time and kind of forgot about it, and then I saw the story of the British woman suddenly talking with a Chinese accent and it came back to me. Enjoy.
Update: I found video of the lady in the news story. She's not talking in a Chinese accent any more; now it's sort of generic European.

The All-American Basketball Alliance
An all-white basketball league. Seriously?
The guy who wants to start this league, Don "Moose" Lewis, uses the example Gilbert Arenas' suspension for pulling a gun in the locker room as an example of the problem with "street basketball." I'm going to go out on a limb and assume Moose is a staunch supporter of stricter gun control legislation.
Got to give props to Lily for her basketball knowledge. Here's a picture of Luc Longley, a member of the first legendary Bulls "three-peat" championship team, sitting next to an unidentified player. These are the kind of guys Moose doesn't want to see on the court. Good luck with that, Moose.

Tiger's Transgressions
I had hoped to get around to doing a few episodes over the weekend, but I got laid low by a wicked toothache. Nothing seems funny when all you can think about is using a rock and the blade of an ice skate to knock that throbbing demon out of your mouth. (I totally get that scene in Castaway now.) Anyway, I'm still in a little pain, so I have no idea if this is funny or not. I just want to know when I'll be able to chew again.
Too bad for Lily, the going price on a mistress' story takes a steep drop once the number of mistresses gets into double figures.

Rose Garden Beer Bash
Yeah, I know, every comedian in the country is doing something with this story, but I couldn't resist.
Speaking of Schlitz Malt Liquor, check out this cool commercial I found. (And by "cool" I mean hilariously/disturbingly inappropriate.)

The Terrafugia Transition
The flying car is finally here. Now just give me my robot maid/lover and I'll be all set. But I'm still disappointed we can't take commercial flights to the moon like in the movie 2001.
Let me apologize for the cheap joke about the driving abilities of Asians. I didn't really mean it -- I was just going for an easy laugh. My wife is Asian and she is an excellent driver. Apart from the way she continually randomly punches the gas pedal instead of maintaining steady pressure on the accelerator, and the way she fell asleep at the wheel twice while we were on vacation last week, she is an excellent driver. Top notch.
Here's the video of the Terrafugia, if you're interested.

American Idol
Yeah, I watch it. Well, my wife watches it and I tend to be in the room when it's on.
I wonder if Simon has ever seen the Japanese horror movie The Audition. Its tag line is "She always gets a part." It might prompt him to be gentler with the more delusional singers.
Speaking of singing -- just three days left in the Blind Man Musician Challenge. (See last Tuesday's posting.) Everyone is looking forward to hearing your contribution.

Watermelon Research
Uh-oh. Here we go. Fun with racial stereotypes. I guess I'd better brace myself for the flood of indignant comments. Actually, there's nothing very dangerous here.
This is just a beta version of the software I'm using to create these, so the background and character choices are very limited. Hopefully, as they build out the application more choices will become available. If David Rees can build the whole "Get Your War On" empire out of five pieces of clip art, this is good enough for me.
