The Lucid Dreaming series of last year was popular, so here's another installment. If you'd like to check out the others in this series, go to Lucid Dreaming, Lucid Dreaming II and Lucid Dreaming III. Enjoy.
And just for easy reference, here are some pictures of Rihanna. She looks nice.
Here's another SEO titled episode. It's amazing to me how much traffic I get from search engines when the episode title contains words like "porn" and "sex." Even more surprising is how much traffic I get from people looking for a picture of the Lamborghini Gallardo.
Since I missed a few days, I decided not to wait until Monday to post this -- hence the rare Saturday posting.
You might notice on the right, in my list of sites, there's a new blog. Do not be tempted to go there. Seriously, I'm not doing some reverse psychology trick on you. I really don't think you should go there. Unless you also work in the field of corporate communications, you'll find my ramblings about effective communications strategies profoundly uninteresting. You'll just be bored and end up hating me.
But if that kind of thing does interest you, feel free to check it out. You might want to wait about a week for me to get a few more postings up -- there's not much there yet. But you can critique the name if you like.
Speaking of the Lambo Gallardo, someone has made a pair of pumps inspired by my dream ride. If I was stuck in an elevator with a woman wearing a pair of these, it would probably be too much for me to handle. As the picture illustrates, they are literally smokin' hot.
I usually like reading Gretchen's posts, but this one stung a bit. I'm afaid I've been guilty of boring people with all of these topics at one time or another.
I do like most of Gretchen's Twelve Commandments, but isn't it a little uppity to come up with two more than God? And the first one seems impossible. Try as I can, I'm not going to ever "be Gretchen." Maybe I'd be better off just trying to be myself.
Hey, Facebookers. There's a quite timely exclusive clip over on the Deadpan Inc. fan page. If you're not yet a fan on Facebook, here's your chance to be one of the cool kids.
And another thing. If you're reading this on a news feeder reader (I believe that's the technical term), you're not seeing the very important poll that's running on the right side of the page. Might I suggest that you please take a moment and click over to participate in this vital survey. Thank you.
Brad and Lily will have the day off on Monday. See you on Tuesday.
I once created a trade show exhibit that featured the robot talking head of Sherlock Holmes. The guy who synchronized the robot's mouth to the soundtrack was amazing. It wasn't automatic like this technology is. He punched a keyboard along with the soundtrack in real time, like playing a musical instrument. I guess it was like advanced puppeteering, but it was still impressive. But I digress.
Here's the choice presented in the episode. Which would you choose?
Actually, I don't think I'd want either robot head sitting on my desk. It wouldn't take long before I developed an unhealthy Tom Hanks/Wilson volleyball relationship.
Second day in a row that celebrities have been featured prominently. Maybe that's how Deadpan Inc. will really take off. The celebrity will Google him/herself, find the episode about him/her, and then go on Letterman and tell Dave all about Deadpan Inc. I can dream. The ball's in your court, Holly.
Here's another news item worth noting. Even though the images they've been able to pull from people's brains have just been simple letter shapes, it's pretty darn amazing.
Here's a fun trick you could play on test subjects if you worked in that lab. As you're hooking up a guy to the machine, tell him, "Try really hard to concentrate on the letter shapes we showed you. Avoid thinking about penises." If you do work in the lab and are reading this, you probably shouldn't follow my suggestion -- it would probably mess up the experiment and get you fired.
Just because I mentioned beyonceonline.com, I have an excuse to throw in a picture from that site. I think it's an "official picture" because she's making a "B" with her legs. Clever!
Be sure to check in on Monday and let me know what you think of the new format I'm going to try. Making xtranormal films is a blast, and the ability to make them is what spawned this blog, but now that it's building an audience I think it should be more unique. I don't like the idea of these films looking like a lot of other people's films. So starting next week I'm going to experiment with a new look. I'm really curious to see your reaction -- that will play a big part in my decision whether or not to make this change permanent.
Here is the much anticipated conclusion of the Lucid Dreaming series. Just as Sylvester Stallone said about Rocky III, I always intended it to be a trilogy. As with Lucid Dreaming I & II, you might want to check them out first -- on not. I'm not the boss of you. Enjoy.
If the last thing he said made you go "Huh?", check out the Avian Genital Tongues episode in the November archive. Sorry, I know, a sequel to a sequel that includes a shout-out to yet another episode is getting way too self-referential. I'll cut back on that. There won't be another two-parter until early next week.
Hey, don't miss your chance to vote in the new survey to the right. Don't worry -- there's no hidden malware involved. Voting won't do anything but add your vote to the little survey thing-a-majig. It won't access your credit card info and force a purchase of a Deadpan Inc. hoodie -- I haven't figured out how to make it do that yet.
If this is your first time at Deadpan Inc., I owe you an apology. This clip won't be nearly as enjoyable to you as it will be to those who saw the first Lucid Dreaming episode. You should check that one out from the November archive before viewing this one. While you're at it, you might also want to check out the Avian Genital Tongues episode. I'm not sure I'll ever top that one.
This episode also reveals the winner of the Double Arm Transplant challenge. I received several punch lines that made me literally LOL, but this one conjured up a county fair eating contest image that stuck with me. "MMM, that sure looks good. But I'm wearing a new white shirt. What flavor is it again? Blueberry! Dammit. What to do? What to do?"
Because it's my prerogative, I'll take the last word with one more that I should have used in the original post. "He's really looking forward to dressing himself, riding his motorcycle and doing the Macarena."
Hey Deadpan fans...help me choose a tag line by responding to the poll in the right-side column. It just takes two little clicks. The poll ends Monday evening. Thanks.
Since I first heard of it, I have been fascinated by the idea of lucid dreaming. I usually have a good time in my dreams, and the ability to take control of them sure is appealing. Apparently, some people can put themselves into the lucid dreaming state at will, every night. That would be awesome.
I know I have had at least one prolonged lucid dream that I could remember. It involved flying around like Superman. Holly Hunter did not make an appearance.
Most of what I write is serious business. This blog offers a healthy outlet for my inexplicable need to write nonsense and entertain my friends. Enjoy.
